About Temple
The steps of the Lord Shiva, Har Ki Pauri is a very pious place in Haridwar famous for its Ganga aarti. There are a lot of temples in and around this place. However, the Ganga Mandir is the most famous among them. It is said that from this point the holy river Ganga leaves the mountains and joins the plains.
The highlight of this temple is the large Ganga aarti in the evening when thousands of devotees gather around the temple to witness the grandeur. They also leave small lamps on leaves and let them flow in the river as a mark of respect. This is also the place where the Maha Kumbh and Ardh Kumbh are held every 12 and six years.
